Safe
Toys for Young Children
Children learn through play, they
are curious, eager to try new activities, and are developing
skills. Exposure to both familiar and new items promotes
skill development and brain development. Toys are a tool
for play -- basic instruments for the development of children's
fantasy, imagination, and creativity. Young learn best
when they are actively involved in learning.
Toys are safe or unsafe for children based on the child's age
and the toy materials and usage. The purpose of this
training is to help parents and child caregivers select toys
that are safe and developmentally appropriate to suit the
skills, abilities, and interests of the child. In
addition, toys should be easy to clean and sanitize.
