Dr.
Charlotte M. Hendricks, a Certified Health Education
Specialist, earned her doctoral degree from Indiana
University in 1982. She has over 20 years
experience in early childhood health education and
research through the Head Start Program, Healthy Child
Care Alabama, health
departments, university settings, foundations and
professional organizations, and grant projects.
She is nationally recognized as a leader in health and
safety education for childcare and preschool, and
received the
"Distinguished Service Award" of the American
School Health Association in 2000. Dr. Hendricks has
written four health curriculums for the preschool and
early elementary grades, a series health
information materials for parents, book chapters for the National
Association for the Education of Young Children and the
American School Health Association, and over 25
articles in national refereed journals. She is President of
Healthy Childcare Consultants, Inc., Associate
Editor for Healthy CHILDCare Magazine,
and served as a Health Consultant for the Region IV Head Start Quality
Improvement Center.
She has presented to audiences locally, nationally, and
internationally, as an advocate for the health and
safety of young children.

Materials
Development:
Training
materials are developed based on current research and
information available. All materials, including staff
and parent training programs, parent HIP on Health series,
and curriculums have been reviewed by experts in related
fields. Reviewers include pediatricians, registered
nurses, registered dietitians, early childhood education
specialists, health educators, safety specialists, and
other qualified professionals. All materials have been
field-tested and evaluated in a variety of childcare and
staff training settings.
Materials
Translations:
Training
materials are translated by Dr. Anarella Cellitti. A
native of Venezuela, she is fluent in Spanish, Italian,
and English, and holds a doctoral degree in Early
Childhood Education. Dr. Cellitti's translations have
been reviewed by bilingual colleagues in various
geographical areas, and have been found to be
appropriate for Spanish-speaking audiences.
Materials
Revisions:
Materials are regularly
reviewed and, if necessary, revised to assure the most
current and accurate information. If changes are required
due to changes in national standards or guidelines,
those changes will be immediately made in the overhead
transparencies and presenter's guide of the training
programs. Also, the changes will be posted on this
website to
assure that materials previously purchased can be
revised by the trainer and continue to be current and
