Immunization:
Protection Against Disease
Thanks to immunizations, our
children can be protected from many serious diseases. Because
most parents and caregivers today have not experienced the
scourge of measles, mumps, or diphtheria, a false sense of
security can develop. This is an excellent presentation for both
caregivers and parents who may not realize the serious
consequences of many childhood diseases. Participants will
discuss myths and misconceptions, and why immunizations are
still essential. Content provides information on specific
immunizations, including a description of each disease, how it
is spread, the schedule of immunization, and side-effects of
vaccine, if any.
|
|
 |
At the end of the
session, the participants will be able to:
- State how diseases are
spread.
- Describe how immunization
prevents the spread of disease.
- List the required
immunizations for children and adults.
