Safety: Preventing Injury
Help parents and home providers
recognize and eliminate hazards in and around the home.
Participants will explore why children are at risk of injury and
types of injuries that most often occur. Home safety hazards are
presented according to the type of injury, including common
causes and prevention of choking, poisoning, cuts and wounds,
head and neck injury, fractures, burns, and dental injuries.
Enhance this training by showing examples of common household
objects and substances that can be dangerous for children.

session, the participants will be able to:
- Identify causes of common
childhood injuries.
- Identify potential hazards
in and around the home.
- Describe safety measures
to prevent injury.

Inspecting your home and environment.
