Fitness and Physical Activity for Young Children

Children who are active have a lower chance of becoming overweight, have increased self-esteem and reduced symptoms of depression and anxiety.  Children need to be fit, strong, flexible, and stable as well as develop stamina.

The purpose of this training is to promote fitness and explore appropriate activities for young children.  By integrating daily physical activity through play, teachers and caregivers will not only promote healthy development for infants, toddlers, and preschoolers, but also will encourage development of lifelong fitness habits.  Program includes recommendations and instructions for appropriate physical activities for each age group - infants, toddlers, and preschoolers.
