Growing,
Growing Strong: A Whole Health Curriculum for Young
Children
This curriculum book makes
health an interactive, fun part of the curriculum with
hundreds of fascinating activities.
Topics
in this comprehensive health education curriculum are
organized under eight themes, including My Wonderful Body; I
Take Care of My Body; Foods I Eat; My Mad, Sad, Glad, and
Scary Feelings; My Family, My Community, My World; Be Safe,
Not Sorry; If I Need Help; and, For My Good Health. Topics
and activities deal with self-care issues and healthy
habits, as well as difficult concepts such as death, use of
alcohol, and emotions. Includes transportation safety
concepts to meet 2001 Head Start requirements.
Each unit includes information on learning centers,
diversity issues, and resources. Activities are designed to
use materials and resources found in most classrooms.

is
a health education kit filled with hands-on, developmentally
appropriate activities all centered on a child's total well being.

and "Risk Watch" are great safety curriculums for
grades preschool-grade8. Also, their national spokesdog,
Sparky, has some great materials!

First Aid for Caregivers and Teachers (PedFACTs) is a new
educational program developed by the American Academy of
Pediatrics specifically to prepare caregivers and teachers to
appropriate recognize and respond to the ill or injured
