Growing, Growing Strong:  A Whole Health Curriculum for Young Children

This curriculum book makes health an interactive, fun part of the curriculum with hundreds of fascinating activities.

Topics in this comprehensive health education curriculum are organized under eight themes, including My Wonderful Body; I Take Care of My Body; Foods I Eat; My Mad, Sad, Glad, and Scary Feelings; My Family, My Community, My World; Be Safe, Not Sorry; If I Need Help; and, For My Good Health. Topics and activities deal with self-care issues and healthy habits, as well as difficult concepts such as death, use of alcohol, and emotions. Includes transportation safety concepts to meet 2001 Head Start requirements.

Each unit includes information on learning centers, diversity issues, and resources. Activities are designed to use materials and resources found in most classrooms.

The "Family Bulletins" included in this curriculum are now available in Spanish.  Click here to download.
