FREE DOWNLOADABLE HEALTH & SAFETY BOOKLETS

Teach children and families about important health and safety topics with the free safety booklets.  Use these as teaching aids in preschool or kindergarten, or send home to help inform parents and families.

The materials are formatted to print as either black/white or color booklets (5.5" x 8.5" double-sided booklet).  To print booklets, please set your printer to "print both sides" and "flip pages."  Booklet can then be folded and stapled.  In your pdf header if may show only 4 pages but when printed correctly, back to back, both sides, it will print all pages for the booklets.
 

   


Don't Get Burned!

Burns are a leading cause of accidental death in the United States.  Statistics show that at least 50% of burns can be prevented.  For young children, the kitchen is the most common place burns occur.  Use this booklet to remind adults to keep children safe from burns.

Fitness Fun

An important key to good nutrition is to eat a variety of foods.  Use this booklet to teach children (and adults!) to eat healthy every day.  Nutritious foods, moderation in eating, and physical activity will help children grow strong and healthy.

Lather Up!

Washing hands thoroughly and often is one of the best ways to prevent disease.  Children and adults should wash their hands frequently throughout the day.  Use this booklet to remind children (and adults) to "lather up!"

People Who Can Help Me

Help children recognize people who can help them in an emergency.  Through pictures and simple words, children will identify teachers, police officers, fire fighters, and other responsible adults who will take care of them.  Teach children how to ask and who to ask for help.

Poisoning Prevention

Poisoning is a leading cause of injury for young children.  Use this booklet to help children recognize items that they should or should not eat or touch.  Post the Poison Center number by every telephone.

Safe Fun In the Sun!

Outdoor activity provides the fresh air and exercise that is important for children's health.  However, too much sun can lead to painful burns, eye damage, and skin cancer.  Help prevent these problems by teaching children to be sun safe.  Have fun talking with children and following the sun safe suggestions in this booklet.

Tooth Care
